I am the grateful granddaughter of Hub Hansen and founder of his legacy Hub’s Family Juice. My grandfather started Hansen’s Fruit and Vegetable Juices in 1935. Hub’s Family Juice restores his vision and dream of offering quality, great tasting, and 100% natural juices at a traditional value. We welcome you to taste the difference.  Who is Hub Hansen? Hubert “Hub” John Hansen was born January 6, 1891 in Eden Valley Minnesota. His father died young leaving his 24-year-old son “Hub,” head of the household and responsible for supporting his mother and seven brothers and sisters. Hub had been working in construction, learning carpentry and attended architecture courses creating his own company Builder of Fine Homes, Inc. His business and reputation proved successful as Hub met and married Florence Rose to embark on a new endeavor -- a family of his own. Hub & Florence had five children: Vincent, Dick, Milly, Eugene and Thomas. For his new family Hub built a state-of-the-art home with the most modern conveniences at the time including an electric garage door and an electric dishwasher built right into the cabinetry. Hub also purchased a large piece of property on the banks of the Mississippi River to pursue his passion of growing prize-winning gladiolas & peonies.  But the great depression spared no one, including the Hansen family. Hub’s building business was crippled and like most Americans, it was time to start over. Hub packed-up his family and moved west. Perhaps the farmlands of Southern California inspired the specific childhood memory, but Hub was reminded of the chronic sinus condition he once suffered from and a specialists’ recommendation for its best remedy: drink fresh carrot juice.
 A culmination of all Hub’s interests and resources: experience in building, working with machines, farming and growing, knowledge of the benefits of fresh juice- synthesized into Hub’s next adventure. With his wife’s blessing Hub sold her engagement diamond and, counting on the workforce of his family in 1935, he started Hansen’s Fruit and Vegetable Juices.
In the 1950’s Hub built a modern plant on Juanita Street near Vermont & Beverly in Los Angeles but never traded technology for taste and quality. The lessons of the great depression were not lost on Hub and his family who bottled pure and simple juice, never compromising its integrity, nutritional value or healing ingredients. Once again, Hub built up a strong business with many loyal customers who appreciated the perfect taste and benefit of his quality product. Hub’s secret: keep it natural and keep it in the family! His four sons helped run Hansen’s Fruit and Vegetable Juices and his daughter Milly’s picture appeared on the bottle. Later, his grandchildren worked for the company and developed new lines and products. His granddaughter Maureen and her husband Gary were prominent in the area of product production until the company unfortunately left the family’s control and its products strayed from Hub’s original fresh juice business. For Maureen and Gary a new opportunity was created. Gary and Maureen Hansen Todd began the journey to honor her grandfather’s original intention and started Hub’s Family Juice. Their mission and vision simple: Offer that good old-fashioned taste, with high quality produce at a traditional value. The lessons of her grandfather were not lost on Gary and Maureen; they run a small company keeping overhead down, creating only natural juices with in-season fruits and vegetables, and keeping it "all in the family". There are no “suits” or “VPs” running around the front office of Hub’s Family Juice, just Hub Hansen’s grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends dedicated to producing the best possible juices.
